NOVEMBER / DECEMBER CRIME FIGURES We had 6 burglaries in the 2 month period. The burglar entered most of the properties through rear or side windows. In one incident however the burglar managed to obtain the keys to the property through the cat flap! The keys had been left on the kitchen worktop. Please take care not to leave keys within the reach of a hooked piece of wire put through a letter box as this is another way keys to front doors and cars have been obtained in the past There were also 7 burglaries from sheds and garages during the same period. Bikes, boat equipment and sanitary ware are among the items stolen. There were also many cases of milk being stolen from peoples' doorsteps. There were 3 thefts of motor vehicles, 2 were motorbikes, the third was a Mercedes which was later found abandoned nearby. We has 6 thefts from motor vehicles. In 2 incidents windows were smashed in order to gain entry into the cars, but number plates and wing mirrors were stolen from other vehicles. There were 9 cases of criminal damage most of which were to cars. Please get your car off the road particularly at night if at all possible. The old Police Station at the Civic Centre is now closed.
