CRIME FIGURES for MAY and JUNE

We have had 4 dwelling burglaries up to the 24th June. In one instance a rear door was left insecure and in another a key to the property was left outside! Entry to the property was gained via a rear conservatory roof in another burglary.

There were 9 other types of burglary. These included the theft of 2 bikes from a shed, theft from an insecure garage, various items stolen from building sites and post being stolen and damaged.

Please check your own security especially to your shed and garage and consider buying a shed alarm if you have not already done so .

We had 2 thefts of motor vehicles. One was a car stolen from a driveway in Woodside Rd and the other was a moped stolen from Kingsbridge Rd.

Thefts from vehicles continues to be unnecessarily high. I was told never to leave even an old coat in the car, you might know there is nothing in the pockets but a thief doesn't until he has smashed your   car window.

Other types of theft are high also. These include bicycles being stolen from gardens, mobile phones etc.

There have been many cases of what can only be described as mindless vandalism. Many cars have been damaged and also fences. As you are out and about on these summer evenings please be extra vigilant and if you see anything suspicious call the police straight away on 999 or 22 22 22 as appropriate.
